Institute of Petroleum Studies, Uniport

Training of the centre will be organized under two programmes.

• MSc Petroleum Economics and Management: A multidisciplinary course with core courses from the Department of Petroleum & Gas Engineering, Economics, and Management.
• MSc Petroleum Policy & Strategic Studies: A multidisciplinary course with core courses from the Departments of Petroleum & Gas Engineering, and Faculty of Law, RSUST (which will teach petroleum Law).

When fully operational, the programmes will be run on full time and part time basis and the students will be drawn from the industry, the government, and fresh graduate of Engineering, Science, and Social/Management Science. Also available are conducive learning environment full internet access and virtual library, hands-on-training using on computer per student, and the use of industry software for teaching and learning: The teaching responsibility will be 40% (collaborating institutions), 40% (Uniport), and 20% (Industry experts from home and aboard).
The Centre will also run International Certification programmes in:

• Certified Risk Analysis
• ISO Certification
• Associate Environment
